Located 18km from Bordeaux and 26km from Saint-Émilion, Château de Camarsac is nestled in a lush green setting.
Our Terroirs
Today, the estate spans 85 hectares of vineyards across three distinct wine-growing areas: Camarsac, Loupes, and St Aubin de Branne & Cabara. This geographical diversity allows us to cultivate different terroirs, bringing a wide aromatic palette along with rich, varied flavors to our wines.
At Camarsac, we grow Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, Sauvignon Gris, and Muscadelle for our white grape varieties. For our reds, we cultivate Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Petit Verdot.

Notre histoire
The Past
Construction of the fortress, authorized by royal license from King Edward II of England
Written record mentioning the presence of vineyards during this period
A long feud between the Counts of Camarsac and other local nobles to win back the castle
Construction of the dovecote, one of the largest in the region
Building of the second part of the castle and the courtyard
New architectural changes to the castle, adding decorative towers and medieval style walls
Lucien Lurton bought the castle in 1973, 10 years after a fire destroyed the main tower. Bérénice Lurton then took over in 1992.
The Present
Thierry Lurton bought the estate from his sister Bérénice
He started buying exceptional vineyards, adding more complexity to the different wines created by Thierry Lurton

Turning our old barrel cellars into a reception hall, and now into our bistro restaurant "La Bonne Table"

The Owners
In 2007, I bought this beautiful estate from my sister Bérénice. My wife Solange, our four children, and I then moved to the property.
I come from a long line of winemakers, while Solange comes from a farming and wine background. Fun fact: Solange and I actually met through our past careers back then, when we were both working in social work and healthcare.
We try to balance our two passions: winemaking and people. The estate and terroirs of Château de Camarsac are perfect for this.
Our goal is to keep highlighting and growing Château de Camarsac, sharing its amazing potential with everyone, every day!
Our Team
Today, we have a year-round team of eleven employees, along with a few interns throughout the year. Everyone on the team comes from a different professional background, allowing each person to bring their own unique experience, ideas, and contribution to the estate.
